Pizza Dough
Instructions
In order to start preparing our pizza dough, put the flour on a pastry board (or in a large bowl) and make a well in the centre. Take a small glass bowl, where you'll pour a glass of warm water, the sugar and the crumbled yeast (1), and mix until all the ingredients are melted (2).
Pour the water and yeast mixture in the centre of the flour (3); then, aside, melt 1 tablespoons (20 g) of salt in another small glass bowl of warm water and add it to the flour, together with the oil (4); then begin kneading the dough (5).
Keep close to you some flour and the remaining warm water (6), which will be added to the pizza dough little by little until it reaches the desired consistency: remember that the pizza dough should be soft and elastic (according to the quality of the flour, you may use more or less water).
Keep on kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and soft yet firm (7). Form a ball with it and lay it in a large bowl (remember that it will double in volume), well sprinkled with flour on the bottom.
Cover the bowl with a clean cloth (8) and store it in a warm place free from drafts, like your oven switched off.
Wait until the dough has doubled in size (it takes about 1 -- 1 hour) and then begin to roll out your pizza dough (9).
