Grandmas Italian Chicken & Dumplings

Instructions

Dice the onion and cook in the oil and butter until translucent
wash and dry the chicken - season with salt pepper and paprika and add to your pan
cover to cook
while that is cooking mix your eggs with water and add to the flour to make a thick batter
bring a pot of water to boil and season with salt
you can press the batter through a large holed strainer if you have one or a Spatezle maker if you have one - drop by the teaspoon full into the water - they are done cooking 30 seconds after they start floating and look firm
remove the cooked chicken from the pan, shred or chop and set aside
add the finished dumplings into the pan and mix well with the drippings and onions.
add the chicken back into the pan and incorporate.
